Friday Color Sports Day

This post features student writing.

Today was super fun and definitely nice to have something different to do after a long day and week of work. We worked in the morning, and then in the afternoon we had the games, which are held every Friday. The kids were split up into four teams — red, yellow, green, and blue — determined by the families of the kids, and we were split up evenly, too. While wearing the colors of our respective teams, we participated in all kinds of events: 400×4 relay, 400×1 relay, tug-of-war, sac races, and more. While sitting on the sidelines everyone cheered as a way to motivate participants and show team spirit!

At the end of the day, the red team won, followed by yellow, green, and then blue, but regardless of the scores, it was such a fun day for everyone! The kids had so much fun and it definitely was exciting to be involved in their sports, and be a part of their house teams. Here is a haiku to encapsulate the joy and fun of today:

Running and cheering
Red, yellow, green, and blue teams
We gave it our all
