Diving Deeper into Fijian Culture

This post features student writing.
Today we split into four groups and kicked off various new paint projects and continued unfinished ones from the previous day. The first group started painting the exterior wall of the kindergarten Sami traced the day before. The second group continued repainting numbers and letters on the walkway leading up to the school. On the same walkway, group three created the night sky with constellations. The fourth group made a new welcome sign for the village. Each group made significant progress today, and will continue working in the coming days. Everyone is trying to tailor their project to the kids wants and needs. We are all excited to contribute in any way we can.
After we finished up work, we played sports outside the school with the kids. After dinner, the kids tested our wits with riddles and questions! When we finished, the entire group discussed and shared about our cultures and, we learned a little Fijian. The children invited us into their homes to show us their culture and way of life. We all came away with a greater understanding of Fiji and its people.
